We are excited to announce auditions for the animated adaptation of Sibo the Civil Engineer, a Zimbabwean children’s book on civil engineering.

The book was written by: Michelle Rutendo Sibongile Maphosa, illustrated by Wadzanayi Kim Bwanya, you can find the book on Amazon.

The book is short and powerful and the aim of the series is to ignite an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in young children.

We will be producing the animated adaptation of the children’s book so here is how it is going to go down!

Rules and Conditions

We are adapating the first book of the series into an animated show, however, there will be more issues in the series. This means that successful auditionees will be required to reprise the roles awarded to them for future projects when required.

Please note, the following conditions apply for this project only, future adaptations of this project may have different requirements:

  • 1) Can be in Harare for the duration of the recordings
  • 2) Available on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • 3) Fluent in English
  • 4) Access to Whatsapp

Renumeration

As stated above, this will be a book series which will also be adaptated to multiple animation projects. Successful audtionees will be required to play the same characters for future projects as well and will also be renumerated for each project. 

Renumeration depends on the amount of work to be done on the project, that’s to say roles with more work to do will receive more renumeration.

How to audition:

  1. Download the audion material at the bottom of the page.
  2. Send a video of yourself reciting/perfoming the lines to the following Whatsapp Number: +263 71 432 7211
  3. Successful auditionees will be notified and will be required to come in for recording.
  4. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS WEDNESDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2023, AT 12 NOON.
